selling their repurposed t-shirt reusable bags soon

Thank you for t-shirt Donations for Mrs. Liddell’s Class!

Mrs. Liddell’s elementary wants to thank everyone for their generous donation of t-shirts. They received a bountiful collection and were excited to start repurposing the shirts this week with the help of Montessori’s alumnus teacher Jane Erickson. In fact, the class has received so many t-shirts it is now in need of thread. If you have an old spool of thread in any color, please consider donating it to their t-shirt project. All thread may be placed inside the t-shirt donation boxes.

One of the reasons the class decided to repurpose t-shirts into reusable bags is that they have learned how harmful plastic is to the environment. Annually approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide–more than one million bags are used every minute. Plastic bags have low recycle rates and are not biodegradable, leading to massive build-up in the environment. One of the easiest ways to reduce the use of plastic is to shop with reusable cloth bags.

Mrs. Liddell will be selling their repurposed t-shirt reusable bags soon. Look for an order form in the coming weeks and for their table at Taste of Marshall. Bags will be sold for $2.00 and all money will be given to the Water for South Sudan organization to help purchase a new drill for digging wells.
